I think we all knew what would come out of this meeting today. we have been working for avery greedy company. I cannot understand why they treat their employees as they do. I have been working for them for over ten years and I have always done my best to make the products that they sell. I just want to thank all of the committe members on a job well done. And I would like to tell Vought where to stick it.

Yeah, Maxie had to sit outside because he was too ashamed of his self to confront anybody. I hope he chokes on his christmas ham.

Hey Garrett and Tharp, whenever you get off of that bubble you are obviously drifting on, just notify our Negotiationg Committe. Until then, your are wasting their precious time. They could have been vacationing in the wonderful state of Texas, not. Combative and dimissive sounds correct, considering that I am talking about the devils advocates. (Not guessing on that one) It is time for the both of you to reap what you have sown, and you will do just that. No, this is not a threat, it is a fact. Neither one of you are man enough to speak the real truth. This whole farce will haunt you one of these days and you will still be so out of touch with reality that you will not comprehend why. Doty is the man behind stalling the negotiations, but you both have sold your sole for the almighty big bucks. All agendas will be discovered and you will fall and will probably take Vought down with you. Proud? Probably so, you idiots!

It is very clear what Doty, Tharp, and Maxie is doing, even at the expense of driving Vought Aircraft into bankrupcy, that is to divide and conquer hoping to destroy the Union by holding out and hoping more of the low life scabs will slither through the gate begging for their job forgetting their fellow union Brothers and Sisters how over the years we have sacrifaced to get what we have now. The company does not give you anything. Well we had all better stick together more now than before because its clear we are trying to deal with snakes with forked tongues. So lets stay united, support our negotiating committe and keep contacting our elected officials and let the scabs know that we know who they are. NO TAKE AWAYS. The NOV. proposal by the company is dead.

just remember one thing we are all just a number to this company . the closer it gets to christmas the more they show it. stay strong just one more day longer than what it takes to get a decent contract

I dont know if this is possible, but, could it be possible for either of the mediators to release a statement as to the events of the negotiations today? I think a press statement from them would shed a lot of light on the progress or lack of it. I know that this is a we said they said type of thing, but, maybe the unbiased oppinion of the mediator would help us all undestand.

Is really just a new begining!

While this latest news is discouraging, I for one, was not surprised. It seems to me that Vought is treading water, stalling untill the new addministration takes seat, to see what their tax position will be, and trying to get us to go back cheap, to recoup their future, less favorable tax possition! Sort of robbing our future, durring this lame duck Republican silly season!

This I know, sounds political but you only have to see the news, or read the better newspapers, to realise that this is the red state that Bob Corker comes from, and that it is also a "Right To Work" state. And for this we can thank all those working class voters who voted along with the fat cats to make the South red, and unrestricted for Fat Cat Corporations to raid!

This is the same as the Government giveing Forien Corporations tax breaks and utility concessions, right out of the working mans pockets, for locating a Plant in this state, then asking the other Union Workers to accept a pay cut, outside of their contract, to assist this move, so all? can benefit???

Yes I am PISSED OFF, but am also VERY MUCH MORE convinced that this GREAT and STRONG LOCAL will prevail and WIN! Time, strong will, sacrifice, and UNITY WILL WIN OUT!!!

STAY STRONG BROTHERS and SISTERS!

Skilled I.A.M. 735 Worker....again

So what do they think we need to do to help them recoup their losses? Hummmm let's see, how bout they work with us to settle a fair contract so we can go back to work, that will help them recoup losses.
Folks they want to starve us out. I don't intend on missing a meal. Question is how long can they hold out? I want to go back to work but not without a good contract. For all of you who are thinking about crossing, you get what they give..NOTHING!!

Anonymous said...

There is one sentence that I would like to say something about in the update. The company says it wants us to help recoup their losses. The way I see it they wanted this or they would have negotiated a good contract to start with. The company will continue to lose money as long as we are standing on the picket lines.

STAY STRONG 735 and we will win

Thank You Negotiating committee!
Vought as a whole and yes even Elmer Doty is nothing more than low life liars.
Vought can post all the media statements they want about being fare and wanting to end this strike, but we all know better.
I'm sure now the media will read between the lines, and see what a bunch of wacka doodles is running Vought.
Vought can continue to bully all the scab replacements, because they're sure not going to bully us "The Union Brothers & Sisters".
Stay STRONG Brothers & Sisters!!

Elmer Doty, Santa Claus is watching YOU, and I'm sure you know the rest of the story!!!

all this company can do is lie this is the worse company i have ever worked for you would think we was askin for a kidney i hope the ones that cross get what they deserve!

unhappy735 said...

WOW, thats about all you can say after being lied to for 5 months by a company that VALUES it's employees. They have lied to us, to senators, where does it stop ? You know they are lying to each other just to cover their on asses. What is so special about the 13th ? They want us to come up with ways to save them money ?? Get rid of half the overhead, useless, walk around with a dumb look and a piece of paper pricks that don't do anything. Quit killing 1000 trees a day on a paperless system and telling us it's a much better way to do business. Quit spending 100.00 dollars an hour on contract scab labor, plus the buses, plus the per diem, plus the hotels. I haven't got started good and I have saved millions. Plus it will put an end to scrap and rework and RETURNED products and VOUGHTS name will not be MUD in the aerospace community. Just a thought Elmer

I felt sad after finding out the company and union could not come to an agreement. I am sad for the union families, struggling to pay their bills and feed their families, not knowing when this will end and they can return to work. The wives and children did not ask for this,no medical insurance, no dental, no security. I know there are other mothers out there who are as bitter as I have become. Yes we are STANDING STRONG but no one said we had to like it.

Anonymous said...

honestly did anybody expect anything less. it has always been vought's, avco's,aerostructures, and textrons position on letting the UNION EMPLOYEES get them out the sh*t they get into. i am all for calling the management lucy ricardo and the hard working skilled laborers ricky. seeing how we always have to bail those dumba**es out. i was very hopeful that they (the company) had learned from the error of their ways this time around. i am just shy of losing everything, cannot find a job worth it due to living in a very small town, but i wont cross. did you hear that Lucy, I WONT CROSS. i would rather lose all the things i think i have to have than cross the pickett line. im off to find a job flipping burgers or delivering pizzas. maybe i will get lucky enough to get both jobs:) to all those that have crossed i wouldve expected nothing less of you cowards, i hope you dont raise your children to be cowards like you. its tough out here but ill gotten gains are not worth my morals and self respect, as well as the respect of my family and friends. i dont know how you sleep at night. if you want to come back and walk the picket lines with those of us that have a backbone and are willing to stand up for what is right we will welcome you, every single one of you could benefit from being around people with strong moral fiber. just as a hint i would come to the line before christmas get here because if you come out 2 days before its over you WILL NOT HAVE GAINED ANY RESPECT from those of us that have been out here manning the lines day and night, hot or cold, wet or dry, and as of recent snow and ice. and on a final note to the negotiating comittee i am very proud to say i voted for you guys. you have done a extraordinary job in negotiating with vought. i think when everything is settled the union needs to have a party. with the negotiating committee as the guests of honor. i also think we should hold a party for voughts negotiators, only difference would be that ours would involve 900 plus joyful brothers and sister with their families, and voughts party would mainly consist of 900 plus members of the IAM 735 and their families and they can let tharp, maxie, whitney, and even elmer fudd (doty) explain what they had planned on accomplishing with the proposals they have offered and why they felt it necessary to attempt to use bully pulpit tactics to try to scare us. hey maxie just wanted to ask you are the guards there to protect you from the negotiating committee or have you forgot to pay your dope dealer again? ok brothers and sisters i am through with this soapbox for now. much love for all my union brothers and sisters fighting the righteous fight.

Everyone knew the company was going keep us out until after the first of the year. Hope Jan.13th the company offers something new and not keep wasting everyones time on both sides.

Anonymous said...

from the companies release today; ..."In fact, the proposed contract in Nashville reflects the same approach to pay and benefits already in place throughout the rest of Vought, encompassing both union and non-union employees".

OK Vought, bring in the Dallas contract and let us vote on that since its the same. Make sure you keep the "same approach to pay as Dallas" in there. I think we would like that part. ..and we can shoot rivets.

We have got to win THIS one. If we dont stand tough this will all be for NOTHING!

NO TAKEAWAYS!
Period.

How did everyone like your Christmas gift from the company today? They gave us the finger, well I for one am giving them one back. I wonder Why they hate us so much? Most of us have given them alot of good production over the years and this is the thanks we get. I cannot even begin to express my disgust with these people. I would like to meet with some of them face to face no holes barred when it was over we would have a fair contract. i don't think they have anyone who could take me with the rage I've got for them at this time.
Stay Strong Folks!!!

Didn't expect anything else from Vought who apparently think they can starve us out till we crumble.
Well were in it for the long haul come what may.
Four generations and eight family in this family have helped to make them what they are today.
We have fought in the past for what was right and will still fight the fight.
You are losing the dedication of workers who pride themselfs in the quality of work they do.

Confucious say...Happy employees make much successfull business.

Why wait a month??? If your really interested in comunications Vought then come back to the table every week and lets settle this so we both can be productive.
I believe it was reported YOU walked away.
Confucious say...Communication is the key to happiness.

Scabs you are in my prayers too.
Forgive them for they know not what they do!

Best Christmas I have had in a long time.
Time spent with my family rich with love and togetherness.
PRICELESS

So let me get this straight. At first they said they were doing good and on schedule and we should give in to their poor attempt at a fair contract because they didn't need us. Now they are saying we should give up what we have worked for all these years and help dig them out of yet another hole, that would not be there if they had offered a fair contract in the first place. I guess I'll be dusting off my resume and finding another aerospace job. The managers at vought seemed determined to kill the nashville site. Oh well, I hope everyone has a merry christmas!

SEE YOU GUYS AND GALS, THEY HAVE ADMITTED THAT THEY HAVE LOST A LOT OF MONEY WITH THEIR SCAB LABOR . THEY SAY THEY NEED TO RECOOP THEIR LOSSES, THEY ARE HURTING AS MUCH AS SOME OF US. IT IS A WAITING GAME TO SEE WHO CAN STARVE OUT WHO. IF YOU CROSS THEY WILL RECOOP THEIR LOSSES WITH THE NOVEMBER 13, PROPOSAL THEY'RE TRYING TO STICK DOWN YOUR THROAT, 105 MAINTENANCE AND PRODUCTION JOBS WILL BE GONE WHICH WILL LAYOFF 105 NEW WORKERS, 24 TRANSFERS FROM DALLAS ( THAT ARE NOT WALKING THE PICKET LINE,BUT MAKING THEIR REGULAR WAGE AND BENEFITS, AS WELL AS THEIR PENSION ARE ACCRUING ) THOSE WILL REPLACE THE BOTTOM 24 PEOPLE. THATS A TOTAL 129 JOB LOSSED THE MOMENT WE WALK IN THE DOOR. NOW LETS TALK ABOUT CONTRACTORS SCABS BROUGHT IN AND LAYING YOU OFF, HOW MANY JOBS DO YOU THINK WILL BE LEFT THEN, AFTER YOU TRAIN THEM, THEN THEY LAY YOU OFF? THEN THERE'S MANDATORY OVERTIME, AGAIN JOB CUTS, THE LIST GO ON AND ON, SO ANY OF YOU YOUNG GUYS AND GIRLS THINKING ABOUT CROSSING YOU MIGHT WHAT TO RE-THINK YOUR DECISION BECAUSE IT WILL BE A SHORT TERM JOB AND THOSE OLDER FOLKS THAT CAN'T RETIRE YOU'LL BE NEXT. FOR THE OTHER 95% OF US KEEP THE FAITH WE ARE ALL AND I MEAN ALL OF US DOING A FANTASIST JOB WE WILL MAKE IT THREW THIS, IF YOU BELIEVE IN GOD, HE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU BUT YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE FAITH. STAY STRONG AND GOD BLESS YOU

It is clear what the company is trying to do. They realize that over the past 11 weeks that only 70has crossed over the line, out of 930. That is a big victory for the Union. And they know it ! Their whole intention is to try to break the will of the remaining 860 employees. They have heard that most of us were expecting to have a contract by the end of December. So, they are banking on this final attack, that by, delaying another month, we will throw up the white flag, and hundreds of people will cross the line. If that happens, they know they have won the victory, by breaking this union. And breaking this union is what their main intention is! WAKE UP FOLKS! IT IS A TRICK ! The finish line is just ahead. Don't give up now, You have come to far to quit now .We are in the final lap of this race, and the finish line is just ahead. STAY STRONG BROTHERS & SISTERS, We will reap, if we faint not!

Vought says this latest contract is fair and comparable to other Vought sites, I say bull. the first one that was voted down may have been but this latest one is not .it may be comparable to Charleston which IAM excepted and thought they would throw this crap on the Nashville site. I was also disturbed when I read about the union wanting to put the $40 in the IAM pension fund I would rather have the $45 in my own fund. and something else I don't understand how both sides can say their ready to talk but only meet once a month.

Anonymous said...

The company has put all bets on their latest scheme to break your union. They have no intention of settleing the contract right now. They left the meeting Friday in hope that come Monday people will be so discouraged, that they will be crossing the picket lines in record numbers. DON'T FALL FOR IT FOLKS! It is time for you to stick together and call their bluff. You will win this strike, if you stand together. They cannot continue to spend the money they are spending and be competive as a world class leader in Aerospace. I would love to see the amount of money they have spent just to carry the title " GREEDY ". I wonder what their share holders think about that? Stay Strong 735

Anonymous said...

See you guys and gals, they have admitted that they have lost a lot of money with their scab labor. They say they need to recoup their losses and they are looking to us to pay for yet another one of their mistakes. They are finally admitted something we already knew; this strike is costing them a lot of money but do you see that counter on their site? No. They want us to think that everything s hunky dory, but we know better.

It is a waiting game to see who can starve out who. If you cross they will recoup their losses with the November 13, proposal they're trying to shove down your throats. And crossing the picket line will cost jobs for all of us; 105 maintenance and production jobs will be gone which will layoff that many new workers. Then you would have workers coming up from Dallas. That’s at least 24 more jobs we would loose and could be many more. That’s at least 129 job losses the moment we walk in the door, if we accept what they are offering.

Now lets talk about contractor scabs brought in and laying you off, how many jobs do you think will be left then, after you train them, then they lay you off?! Then there's mandatory overtime, again job cuts, the list go on and on.

So any of you young guys and girls thinking about crossing you might what to re-think your decision because it will be a short term job and those older folks that can't retire you'll be next. It looks like the company wants to replace all of us eventually with contract labor and temp labor.

The only way we are going to get through this is if we stick together; it’s the only way.

For the other 95% of us, keep the faith we are all and I mean all of us doing a fantasist job we will make it threw this, if you believe in God, he will take care of you but you have to keep the faith. Stay strong and god bless you

Would like to respond to anonymous, December 13, 12:59PM Please make sure that you understand all the facts and that your anger is directed toward the right direction...the company. The contract that the Charleston plant signed may not have been the one everyone wanted but you must understand the company had stalled negotiations for a year (only meeting seven times during that year) and they were one day away from being able to de-certify the vote to bring in the union. It may not be much but there is a contract in place and the union is in the plant to live another day and better the contract next time. UNION 1 COMPANY 0!! Also, our committe has made it very plain to the company and the federal mediator that they are ready and willing to meet 7/24. The company is the one refusing to meet, not the union. They think every month they can drag this out that more and more of us will cross the picket line. This ain't going to happen. While we are all ready to return to work , we must return together and with a good contract or else all of our days out here will be for nothing. We all feel your pain and have the same anxieties that you do but remember, FEAR is not from the LORD and GOD is still on the throne. HE knows when this will end and how this will turn out, so may I suggest a little faith and prayer, for your peace and comfort, and maybe even another job that pays less for now until we receive our reward for our patience. The union is our friend, not the company. The union is trying to help as many of us as possible. Do not be to proud to ask or to humble yourself to do a different kind of work for now. GOD loves a humble and willing spirit. TRUST HIM ONLY. I will continue to pray for you and your family as well as the rest of my union brothers and sisters.

BROTHER AND SISTERS

After reviewing the facts of the negotiations held on 12/12/08, it now becomes clear what Vought thinks about the Nashville work force. Instead of sitting down at the table to negotiate a fair contract, they have chosen to try and starve us out. It is also clear that Dallas controls the company’s negotiation team. Maxie and Dan are little more than lap dogs of their handlers from Dallas.

Facing the fact that Dallas is clearly calling the shots. We must remember how hard they tried to close the Nashville site. After they almost lead the company into bankruptcy, they came back to us with the “our destiny is in our on hands” tactic. We did our jobs made the Nashville site into Vought cash cow.

Now once again Dallas is trying to punish the Nashville work force by offering us a sub-par contract. So once again OUR DESTANEY IS TRULY IN OUR ON HANDS. It is time for local 735 to dig in a show Dallas that our work force and our families are not sub-par to theirs. So stand strong and honor our picket line and at the end of the day we will get the contract that we deserve.

Heart problems , can't afford my medication, can't go to the doctor, and certainly not to the hospital ( God forbid anything to happen) and no one else will insure me. Thanks Vought...hope I live to see 60!
