LET THERE BE NO MISUNDERSTANDING !

Our Intrenational Representatives are here for our support. The people that were elected by you are making the decisions in these negotiations. We have been and will continue to rely on the experience and expertise of our International support.

We feel that the company is using the same type of tactics that have been used in other recent negotiations. We know you will not fall for this. We want to thank each and every one of you for your support. Obviously, the Company hasn't heard the membership!

Your elected Negotiating Committee.

Lets see, Should I beleive My committee or the company. It appears to me that maybe Vought needs to get Dallas out of our negotiations. This is not Dallas. I heard that the company showed up with a corporate lawyer and security. Doesn't seem like they came wanting to be fair and equitable.
I'm with you to the end!

they were supposed to come to an agreement on terms not just take what they had already planned down on paper. this was just a trick to see what we would do and if we had changed our views on what matters most and it hasn't. the same thing happened during the boeing meetings. we have them brothers and sisters , we just have to stand united.

Media Statement
IAM Refuses to Bargain
NASHVILLE, NOV. 12, 2008 – Despite the Federal Mediator’s request that both parties resume negotiations and Vought’s willingness to do so, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) refused to meet with the company today to begin resolving the current six-week strike and receive Vought’s new proposal.
The mediator informed the company that the IAM’s International leaders are now officially in control of these negotiations, so Vought is sending its new contract proposal to the IAM International office in an effort to continue the bargaining process.
In addition, the company said:
”It is unfortunate that the IAM refused to meet with us to discuss our new contract proposal.
We want to resolve this strike so employees can return to work, but we cannot do so if the IAM refuses to come to the bargaining table.
We have a temporary workforce in Nashville that is equal to about 90 percent of normal plant staffing. After six weeks, we are close to achieving pre-strike operating performance. In fact, we’re achieving new productivity highs on several of our lines. The additional costs we’ve incurred since the strike are being offset, in part, by these efficiency improvements.
Given the current economic conditions, it is more important than ever to focus on the lessons learned from this strike and help our long-term, competitive cost posture.”
No further talks are currently scheduled. Approximately 1,000 Vought employees in Nashville have been on strike since Sept. 27.

Okay IAM 735, I felt this would happen, HOPED IT WOULDN'T,but Vought did EXACTLY what they are noted for ! False hope was put out to everyone knowing that they were going to do this !Secondly, they timed it perfectly after the Third Qtr. review and then Elmer tells the media that they weren't affected by the strike and they made 1 1/2 million in the 3rd qtr. How stupid for a man at his level to be making statements like this giving the impression that they are doing great BECAUSE you IAM 735 went on stike on Sept. 27 and the 3rd Qtr. ended on the 30th. What you really want to know is how they are doing in the 4th Qtr.YOU, IAM 735 made them that money because you weren't on strike then !!!!PEOPLE , they are playing mind games with you and hoping like hell you will crumble by getting your hopes up then pulling the rug out from under you.If alot of you give up, then it worked! DON'T LET IT HAPPEN ! You will win this if you stand together!AS BAD as I hate to say this ,you need to make PLANS NOW to be out through the Holidays and do what you have to do to get by but STAND STRONG!Let Elmer report the 4th Qtr. without you and see how great they do !!!My prayers and blessings are with each and everyone of you !

Are we there yet? NO!

Their 4th qtr will be a dissaster if we went back tomorrow. They hit the iceberg hard. Now they are rearranging the deck chairs.

I'm committed to getting away from this company sooner rather than later.

Let there also be no misunderstanding. We can all be replaced. None of us are so valuable that they can not be replaced. President elect got his new job with absolutely no experience at all in running anything except his mouth.

Raped and pillaged by Textron, inept Dick Wells era,Ed Ewing and his bunch of hatchet men, Our 1st Christams w/Vought "oh that signing bonus was your Christmas bonus, didnt we tell you that", Tom "we won't move any work to Texas" Risley, Tom "you found out we are moving everything to Texas" Risley, Texas Managment coming to manage the big move and change contract in mid stream with No negotiation, DBA clip board experts to straighten it all out, gaining ground bonus hit by "computer glitch", pay and retirement 30% less than Dallas, a low ball offer with take aways, lying to the press... Is there any wonder we are starting to get pissed off!!!

Hopefully today, the company figured out we are not gonna roll over and play dead. We went on strike to preserve what we had and to make gains. We are not going back to work until we have accomplished that. The company thinks we will stampede across the picket line now because they think we are desperate. Things to consider before you do that: You will be at the mercy of the company. There is no Union contract in effect. There is no Union inside the plant. If the company decides they don't like you, want you, NEED you, or you piss somebody off, you're gone. Who is going to represent you, since there is not a Union in there, and you don't have one on the outside for you anymore? Furthermore, the company is going to prove to you how important you are to them by paying you HALF of what they are paying their SCAB BUS RIDERS!!!! Why would you want to work beside someone who has only been there six weeks, and they are making TWICE as much AN HOUR as you are, PLUS they are paying for them a place to live, a vehicle to ride to work in, and giving 'em free lunch. After all your years of dedication, this is what they do to you when you come in to work for them!!!!!!!!!! DON'T humiliate yourselves. This will be over at some point, and we will ALL go back into work, united TOGETHER, and STRONGER than ever! Hang tough, members of 735!!!

Hey Brothers and Sisters , It's time to start calling your politicians and tell them the TRUE !Then call the News media and tell them the Truth also !

The more I see of this management, the more I'm glad I'm moving to Marietta in January. Oh, and in case anyone from management is reading this, I only used $500 of the $3,000 I saved up in case we went on strike last month. Even if we never go back, I will have enough to last me until I start work at Lockheed. To the young people like me, I think you should think about the option of relocating to a company that cares more about their employees. There is obviously no future at Vought. Many of you have C-130 experience like me and most aircraft manufacturers would jump at a chance to get someone with your experience. Many, like Lockheed, will even pay for your relocation. It wasn't even 24 hours when Lockheed contacted me after putting in my application. The more I saw of their facility, the more I wanted to leave Vought. The management at Vought better be careful. Us lower seniority people won't have any incentive to stay if they continue down the path they are on. What do they plan to do once the baby boomers retire? I already have friends looking for a job that won't apply at Vought because they have heard too many negative comments about the management there. What do you do when no one is willing to work for you any more?

Yeah it's the 4th QTR that matters the most, just like football. The way I see it, they're acting like they're superstars that need body guards and not being the bench warmers that they really are.

We're the pro's at Nashville and yet they want to act like we're some pee wee football team. I'll sit back and watch them try to punt the ball and fumble, when they come up short on the next earnings report.

I will not be intimidated by the thug like mentality that Vought is using. There's an old saying that what comes around, goes around. So use your scab buses that try to hit us and your Men in Black body guards, but when this game ends and we go back in there to work, what happens to all those extra guards?

The rift that Vought has created isn't and won't be in the Union, like they hoped for. When there isn't any regard to this Union by Vought to take the time by sitting down to negotiate at the table like men. We, the members of LL 735, have obviously made the right choice, and this should solidify any second guessing that anyone in this Union had before.

Well done once again Vought. Your psychology courses from 1989 are outdated and can be read a mile away. I hear the sounds of your Golden Parachutes opening prematurely!

Maxie , the locked in the trunk trick ain't gonna work with us!You don't need armed guards to protect you from us !WE don't harm retarded people. You might use them to help keep those in there now from stealing the company blind! This has become probably the most ridiculous display of assumed intelligence that I've ever seen!Surely, you and Dallas must know what the enviroment is going to be like in that plant when this is over after all this !Your barking up the wrong tree this time, your dog don't hunt!Explain this to Dallas if they can understand hillbilly talk !!!!

Anon , I understand Raped and Pillaged by Vought because they did it to me when I was there and they are STILL doing it just this week by notifing me my retirement ins went up from 80 to 200 a month depending on plan chosen on my ins.I know where your coming from ! That's why you need a GOOD retirement for the future . I think that is what this is all about isn't it.Get it done !!!!Your OLD friend!

Here we go folks! Time to tighten your belt one more notch. I know some of you are hurting but lets think things over. If you would've taken the bait you wind up losing.
Health ins increases, that little raise you would have gotten would have been gobbled up, would it have not? Wife not able to get on your ins? What would that have cost some of us.
Losing your seniority rights? What does that mean to some of you? 40 hr work week, suppose your sick but not bad enough to go to the doc. Normally you work a little O.T. to make up the slack, no more.
Look around who do we have to thank for this? Some of our own people. However I blame the company since they have a policy in place for being absent and refuse to enforce it. Retirement something secure or volatile. If they no longer want to run the pension plan give it over to the I.A.M.
Folks there are a lot of things to consider about their offer. How will it affect you ten or twenty years down the road. Making knee jerk decisions is just what they want you to do. I'm in the same boat as the rest of you, better than some worse than others.
I've got kids, one in college two in grade school. House payment, utility bills, car ins. and The holidays coming up. I'll do what I have to, so it all comes together. Crossing that line isn't one of them.
Do some soul searching and praying. Stop with the pity party pick yourselves up and get it together. Use your heads you can find enough work to see us through.
They want you scared, want you to think that we can't see this through. They want you to think our BROTHERS AND SISTERS are weak. What does the negoiating commitee have to gain by not meeting? None it was a bald face lie the company gave to the media. Our people were there in seperate rooms. Why did they bring the ninja guards with them? I'll tell you, they had no intenion of working on this.
Be strong, this is only one of many fight we will face in years to come.
Off my soap box for now!!!!!

Brothers and Sisters in Work and Faith:
Mark 11:22-25: And Jesus answered saying to them, "Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it shall be granted him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which youpray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted to you."

I can’t help but laugh when I think of the spectacle Vought made on Wednesday when they appeared at the meeting surrounded by armed guards. Not having been there to see it, I have the advantage of my imagination to fill in the blanks. I can just imagine the planning that went into that little comedy-drama, and the much ado about nothing it must have been. I can just see the company hiring a drama coach, perhaps a rather effeminate figure who prances around, waving his hands in dramatic gestures, calling out things like, “Look stern, people! That’s it! Make me believe it! You, there, Guard Number two, show me your gun! Oh, that’s it! Splendid! Now, growl for me, baby. Oh, that’s frightening! Good boy!” I can see make-up artists and hair stylists flittering around, trying to make them look good for their performances. Dreams of an Oscar were probably in their minds until they walked in and found that they didn’t even have a line to speak—just a walk on. So much drama for so little results! How sad. It makes you wonder what kind of people actually go to the trouble to plan something like this, doesn’t it? What did it cost to hire those guards? Who were the people who wasted their day to perform for our little negotiating committee? Peons, surely! How embarrassing for them. What kind of productive activity did they leave to do nothing more than put on a show? These, my friends, are the people we work for. At least they’re good for a laugh.
