Same old tactics. Put alot of scary stuff on there and then they take all the really bad stuff off and guess what... we are left with the same contract. These guys need to get a new plan, cause that one aint working. That contract really makes me want to go back in there....NOT !

Dear Dan, Maxie, Whitney, and any other Dallas goon who may be reading this: How stupid do you think we are? This piece of crap proposal you put out is designed to do what? Make us run across the picket line. Who the hell do you think would even want to work for a company that would treat it's employees this way? What do you think you are doing? Punishing us? For what? We are not the ones that lied to you. Maxie is!! We told you to your face, Dan, that we would walk out on the proposal you gave us that last Friday. You chose to believe Maxie instead of us. Maxie is a liar. He calls us his family, huh! He should be behind bars in a prison somewhere charged with over 850 counts of incest because he just screwed his whole family. We do not give him enough credit for even coming up with this proposal. He came in on a baseball scholarship and by the way he even screwed the man who hired him out of his job. You need to get the Dallas goons out of our business and negotiate with the eight people we elected to represent us. They are handling our business not the international and we don't need corporate goons involved. We will never under any circumstances cave in to this propaganda. We Are STRONG do you hear me, STRONG. Maxie's lies have made you think different but one of you should step out and believe us for a change. As for the people who have crossed the picket line look at who you have got. No seniority, no experience, people you were trying to fire before we went out and all those people will be screwed by you too when this is over. And that is the main thing you should remember, Someday this will be over and we will be back in there working and now we know for sure what kind of low class people you are. Step up, cut out this crap, and get real with the negotiations. Fourth quarter will show you that you do need us. We can and will wait. We do not believe the lies you are putting out about how well you are doing and how pleased the customers are. Customers are never pleased when there is a labor dispute in progress and they certainly will not be pleased when they find out the caliber of people the corporate office holds. We will do what is right as soon as YOU do what is right. Not one day sooner. Stop insulting us with your stupid little mind games. If you made this last proposal so bad so we would think the first one looked good forget it! We are way ahead of you in our thought process. Sincerely, A HAPPY PATIENT STRIKER!!!!!!!

For many of us this feels like a kick in the stomach,They are really trying us... They evidently don't realize the strength of this local,and don't understand that we are gonna be on that line for the duration!!

This is the biggest insult I have ever read!! Just a few comments on a few of these items:

Dallas Transfer/Seniority issue- There is one SCAB in there now that ever since he transferred back from Dallas has been raising total HADES about having lost his seniority when he came back from Texas. But under this contract we should give those transfers their seniority now...hmmmm....

Vacation time- you want to pay us for when we use it?? HOW??? The 4/10 and 3/12 shifts are already getting shafted when they use a personal day by only getting paid for 8 hours instead of the hours they would have had if they had been at work. Do they plan on fixing that one?? Also think about how many people DON'T take their vacation days. The company can't keep up now so how do they expect to keep up when people actually DO take a day off?

Mandatory Overtime- GIVE US A CHILDCARE FACILITY LIKE DALLAS!! A lot of people are on their shifts because it can work out with their spouses schedule to take care of children. A lot of people are also single parents.

Working Spouse Rule- Many people have tried to get off of the Vought's insurance and the Vought won't let them because it is not "open enrollment". So how do they plan on working that one? What if the spouse loses their job and needs to get back on Vought's insurance?

I can't even take that contract seriously! So I decided to add a couple of my own amendments for the humor of it all.

Break times reduced to 5 minutes, including lunch.

Over time based on the the Gaining Ground percentages. Yep they take away a percentage of it and pocket it for themselves, thus the need for mandatory over time.

Vacation to be used in only half a day increments. I.E. work 12 hours, mandatory of course, your vacation would be for 6 hours.

Bathrooms are to have coin usage meters installed on stall doors and only given 1 minute of time to take care of your Vought business. Use more than a minute and another Quarter will be required to leave the stall.

Supervisors to use cattle prods for increased productivity! Something in your eye? No problem, one pulse and those tears you cry will wash it right out.

Morning huddle meetings to be started with everyone lining the aisles, as Dan and Maxie parade themselves in new bullet proof carts, standing and waving at all of us.

New company policy is as follows.
Everything is subject to change, as we see fit and how we feel that particular day.

No dealing with Union at all. Just talk to our armed staff and prepare to meet firing squad. No last cigarette either, as it's a tobacco free facility!

All salary people are to be addressed as Mein Fuhrer by hourly and lower themselves to one knee. Upon leaving, hourly person is to place hand upon chest and say, Hail Doty!

Body cavity searches for everyone! Just because they want to.

Okay, now I think that should help clear up any doubts the direction that this is going and looks like it's all blue skies from here.

Does the no.1 draft pick get offered the sorriest contract? I don't think so. I thought they wanted to end this strike. They are just prolonging it, big time. They really think alot of us with the lastest offer. This strike will have people talking for a long time no matter what the outcome. The damage has already been done by vought and has tarnished its image forever.

I'm not sure what made me angrier, this break-down or the letter that Maxie wrote the union. I'm still fuming over that. I started to feel kind of bad being out of work and walking the line, not bad enough to cross mind you. After reading that garbage, I'm more than happy to walk the line in 29 degree weather.

Well , I read this and was deeply saddened that now all of you have found out what I already knew about Vought and had so many times tryed to temper my statments about them in a way that wouldn't upset ALL of you!If my OLD memory serves me , I said they were ruthless and didn't care about anyone no matter there years of service or dedication etc.Now you know! Vought Nashville doesn't run Nashviile and everyone in salary there knows this in a terrible way but can't do anything about it except loose theirs jobs if they disagree.Of course there is some that are all for it but they are few. The rest are just trying to keep their jobs and get thru each day!Majority doesn't rule but they wish this was over probably as much as you!Since the day Vought took over Nashville ,it has been a nightmare for alot of people that are gone and alot thats still there.Hourly and salary have been lyed to repeatedly and we,ve been thru Risley and now Elmer.This whole thing today is just a way of making the original contract look great compared to todays!I never knew that there was that many people in one company that was that evil and uncaring about the people that actually made up the company.It was probably my undoing to believe that if your employees were treated fairly and honestly they would be better at performing quality work on time but I'm not sure that is their form of management nor their belief.This I do know! There's 2 different types of employees. The ones that want to work for you and please you and feel good about themselves when they do it and then the ones that hate you, hate to come to work and look for the bell to go home everyday! I wonder which one they are pushing to have for the future !I think they have met their goal !!!! Your OlD retired friend !

Well if the company can offer less then we need to ask for more, say $5.00 hr raise the first year and free insurance just to start. Maybe 3 mo. paid vacation ..... if they can make a ridiculous offer then we should also that way it would give us a place to start negotiations.

i know, we will take all the cuts just as soon as doty, tharp and maxie reduce their pay and lifetime of benefits to the lowest paid person in the plant and their benefits they get when we ratify this contract. I don't think were asking for to much? its only your life and everything you've worked for you rat bastards and when you retire, if you can retire, we will kindly direct you towards the government CHEESE LINE

If this is they way they negotiate ...its no wonder new business is hard to get. Have they ever heard of setting a goal of having a win-win result. They must think that means they are supposed to win twice on each deal.
I have never seen such a selfish bunch. They drove Nashville into the ditch 3 years ago and we pull it out, fix it and get it hitting on all 8 cylinders and they want to treat us like crap. Well, we're in the ditch again. Maybe on the edge of a cliff.

Times are tough but if some of us that can afford to spare a few bucks,there was a young lady at the Union Hall trying her best to find work and not cross.
I understand she has 4 small children. Some money was taken up for her yesterday, I will pick up a couple of Christmas presents myself to take her. If you can pick up a few extra cans of food or a few dollars anything will help. I don't know how many are girls or boys. I'm sure the Union Hall will have info.

It is obvious that Vought's latest contract offer, has no experation date...............IT STINKS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!

What a slap in the face to all 40+ lowlifes that sold their soul, and crossed our picket! Now their only hope rests right back with our UNION NEGOTIATIMG TEAM!

As for all the salried former supervisors: we try to be nice at the picket line, but in reality, you do LOOK LIKE SCABS too, and some do get razzed for past greviences!

Vought/Maxie/Dan; It looks like you realy cooked your goose now, unhappy workers inside and out!

Hey Friends, Just a little comment on helping others. A lot of us are older and our children are grown, but there are younger people that we work with that have small children. Remember, when yours were small? Santa had to come.They don't understand anything different. So, Daddy or Mommy is not going to work, Santa will still come. We can help this happen for these children. To the members of the hardship committee, I know you are busy, but in the next few days lets try to get this organized. My daughter and I will help any way we can.
