Mediation Unsuccessful

Brothers and Sisters,

We met this afternoon with Federal Mediation. The mediator worked with each of the parties separately, and after several back-and-forth trips, the mediator released both parties, saying, “Federal Mediation was not successful at this time.”

In Solidarity,

Your Negotiating Committee

Just looked at the latest media statement and it is a BLATANT lie!!!

Company is claiming we refused to meet with them???

Looks like we need to have another media statement of our own based on the inaccuracies the company is reporting.

OK guys, let's have some info on the meeting. Vought's posting said we refused to talk. What was proposed and why did the meeting get called off? Times are getting tough and we need some info!

Every time I hear the phrase, “One Day Longer”, I get a little confused; why not a month or two longer? I’m ready to stay out for as long as it takes. I’ll start thinking about when I might like to go back once they decide they want to get down to business. The contract they offered on Sept. 27, 2008 was an insult. I don’t expect them to do any better this week. I can hold out for as long as it takes, no matter what. And I’ll be here on the picket lines until then.

Hello my Brothers and Sisters we must hang tough. I am in this as you are to the end. The company will try every trick in the book on us. Missinformation can cause alot of suffering if you believe it, I don't. See you all on the picket line.

What is going on here? Looks like the company and the union are playing head games with each other and we are the ones getting hurt. Both of you don't need to play us for fools too long. The proposed on both sides need to be shown to the members and let us decide. This is getting out hand fast.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but it looks like the company (vought) is not willing to talk to our team in good faith, it just shows what kind of low down people we work for. From there media statement they said we the union would not talk…. It looks the other way around to me, it’s the company not willing to talk, from the first day of the strike we told them we were ready to go back to the table and work up a good contract that benefits both parties, all I can say is, stay strong my Brothers and Sisters and a good contract will happen,… remember Boeing was out over fifty (50) days and our IAM Brothers and Sisters won….
May the Lord Jesus be with us all, and see us through this trying times.

The 401K will be there if we are out 3 months or 3 years, just accept it and let us go back to work.
