Guys
Hang in there. You have the upper hand. This whole deal is simple. There are 2 major aircraft suppliers in the world (Boeing, Airbus)Neither one wants the other to get the upper hand. This said Boeing is under pressure to turn out product to keep up. And now that Boeing is on the verge of settling, Airbus knows they must continue the pace. Therefore Airbus must be putting pressure on all it's suppliers around the world, of which Vought is one. So Vought must be getting pressure from Airbus to turn out product which at the present time they are not. So hang in there good things to come soon.

I wanted to remind everyone about the payflex accounts. They ARE still active. Look around the house for those insurance statements, Doctor bills, repeipts etc and send them in. It could be the difference in a plate of spaghetti or just a bowl of noodles.
I have turned in almost $2000 worth of expenses and the reinbursement came in very handy.
I know this is a hard time for all of us. I hope everyone is doing what it takes to hold on and I wish the best for your families. This can be very taxing on the relationship with your families so keep those relationships healthy.
Wether it is family pitching in financially or providing shelter, day-care or what ever.Make sure they know how much we appreciate their support. And lastly to the scabs, SHAME ON YOU!!! You have become, (and we'll remind you someday...)A RAT JUST LIKE THE COMPANY YOU THINK YOU ARE HELPING.
You are only making it easier for us to show the company how skilled we really are.

I also wanted to post a few quotes for everyone.

POVERTY: Poverty is uncomfortable; but 9 out of 10 times the best thing that can happen to a young man is to be tossed overboard and be compelled to sink or swim.
JAMES A GARFIELD

PRACTICE: Practice doesn't necessarily make perfect-it just makes permanent. You have to practice doing something RIGHT in order to make it perfect.

RISK: Why NOT go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?

This is good news that the company wants to go back to the table. Our peeps have been ready all along. It probably doesn't hurt that Boeing is gonna get a revised contract to vote on this weekend. So we need to thank them for standing strong. This would not be possible without the support of our union sticking together and the members walking out on the lines in the rain and chilly air. Thanks goes out to all the non members that have come out to show support out on the lines. It's not over yet but we have the ball in our court.

I think the reason they are waiting until the 12th is because of the alleged 30-day guarantee that they gave the SCABs. I’d say they also want to see if Boeing buys their contract and they might be waiting for the elections.

It reminds me of my uncles Ed’s hound dog, who used to lay on the porch and moan all day. When I asked him why that ole dog moaned all the time, he said, “He’s laying on a nail”. So I asked, “Well why doesn’t he just get up and move to a better spot?” Uncle Ed said, “Well, I guess it just hurt that bad yet”.

Vought has been lying on this nail for a while. Maybe it never occurred to them that they could just move to a better spot. Or maybe it just doesn’t hurt bad enough yet.

Why is the union waiting for two more weeks to resume negotiations?

Dedicated to all you SCABS!

I've had choices
Since the day that I was born
There were voices
That told me right from wrong
If I had listened
No I wouldn't be here today
Working and Scabin'
With the choices I made

I was stupied
By an early age I found
I liked (Scabin')
Oh, and I never turned it down
There were co-workers
But I turned them all away
Now I'm living and dying
With the choices I made ...

I guess I'll be payin'
For the things that I have done
If I could go back
Oh, Lord knows I'd run
But I'm still losin'
This game of life I play
Living and dying as a Scab
Is the choice that I made ..

all the comments i've read is great.we can get through this thing if we keep our head in the game. if you read on the vought web site they are talking about cut backs temporary layoffs at the vought sites who support the 787 dreamliner project. lets keep all our fellow workers in mind and perhaps help them if and when they need it. one last thing before i get off my soapbox i do not believe anything on the vought web site. and when our negotiating commitie goes back they need to have in mind that if the talks aren't good we can leave it on the table and go back to the picket. what i'm trying to say is that the company thinks we will most likely jump on this one. but in all actuality we are where we were in the last weeks of august and in semptember. so a word to vought if it's no good this time it's no skin off our nose, we are already on strike. we will just keep on. now i've always said i just want what is fair and i still think that.

It's not the Union that is waiting two weeks to start negoiations. If you read the update it says that vought contacted the meadiator and that's when they want to meet. Everything they do is caculated for an effect. We've been ready to talk since the 27th and before. The handouts they gave us, the little blurb on the news last week, and now this. It's all done with a calculated effect. Don't buy into this game. Our negoiating team has done a great job, it's not their fault if they weren't given anything to work with from the company. Think of this as a bone, will you bite the first one? I take pride in my work and always will because it's what I do.
After this bye-gones won't be bye-gones it won't be all hugs and kisses. Remember all the times of WE REALLY NEEEED YOUR HELP!!!!!? Maybe they would like being treated like we've been. Remember this is a game of who blinked first.
To those who have crossed the line, former union brothers and sisters of mine. Your weakness won't soon be forgotten.

While I see this as a good sign, I do not plan on counting my chickens before they hatch.

One of Vought's goals in this was to break the union. They were surely expecting WAY more to cross than have. In case the company has not noticed they have FAILED to accomplish this.

What they have succeeded in doing is making us even MORE unified. We have taken care of each other in ways nobody ever thought possible (richer/poorer, sickness/health we almost sound married haha)

I would suggest we keep doing what we are doing. If you donate to the food drive at the union hall keep doing it. If we have clothing for others, keep swapping it. When this is all said and done we, as a union, can donate it to charity and give back to the community in their time of need as they have done with us over the last month.

I would also suggest we maintain the "hardship fund". These funds can be used to help each other in cases of serious illness and other unforseeable events (i.e. house fires). We can also use it when the unions who have answered our call for support need us.

Vought is waiting two more weeks! Remember the union told them they were ready to negotiate on the 28th of Sept. Read the Strike update anon.

Hey to all on the strike lines. Just wanted to let everyone I know that even though I am not there anymore I am STILL BEHIND YOU OUT THERE!!! Stopped by this week and talked to some on the lines and told that I am giving them my support. will stop by next time in Nashville and say hi again. Stay STRONG and SOLID!!!!!!

Is this real or a good rumor?? Why hasn't the company posted anything about going back to the table?

Stand strong brothers & sisters

Be ready to keep the picket lines going after the next round of negotiations!

IMHO ONLY!

I think that Vought will not be sincere in the next round of negotiations. We all know Vought's track record in this so far. They have gone to great expense to try to break up this union with no luck.

I feel that new negotiations will only result in another low ball offer just to see how many people will cross the line.

I hope I am wrong!

I will never cross!!!!
