Thank you!

Big thanks to brother David Mottern and Local 480 of the teamsters union for bringing water and supplies to our picker lines, and also to Jerry Lee and Eddie Bryant of the Tennessee AFLCIO for bring 7 cases of water to our picket lines!

It was very appreciated, and won't be forgotten!

THANK YOU COOKIE LADY!
While picketing this morning a nice lady stopped with a fresh batch of home made cookies, She said she passes by everyday and wanted to show her support to the Union Brothers and Sisters.
Yummo cookie!!

Also the local EMS guys stopped and gave hi-fives to all us picketing. They even had a few words for the SCABS over the loud specker, it was too cool. Lol....

Stay Strong Brothers and Sisters!

I would just like to thank the people that brought baby food, and stuff for children to the union hall! It is greatly appreciated by me and my family! I have 2 small children and can get by, so I hope those damn scabs feel good to know they gave up their soul for a car payment or other toys! This to will pass and we will be back and those scabs will be in their own personal hell! Thank you all union brothers and sisters!

I just want to make special mention of all the People who have gone out of their way to support us in this effort. At the Union Hall today (Monday) I saw Union Brothers and Sisters all volunteering their time and talents. Those people did not have to be there and they were not paid for their time. The Negotiating committee has been meeting regularly and they are not being paid for their time either. The strike captains stay longer than the rest of us and keep up with attendance. They don’t get paid for that. Every person who walks the picket line is a vital part of our success and I want to thank each and every one of you. Even our President Mike Worrell lined up to receive his $150.00 check just like the rest of us and he has been walking the picket lines daily.

Many people have walked the picket line on days that they were not scheduled to walk. I also want to mention the support we have received from the community, including the police, EMTs, the Titans, members of other Locals and passers by. Every one has an important roll to play in this cause. I know of at least one person who donated his first strike check to the hardship committee! I think it is also worth mentioning that I have even seen at least one salary worker supporting our picket line! That’s right; a salary worker carrying a picket sign!

I am very proud to be standing with such a respectable and responsible group of people. Thank you! Thank you very much!

Well said Tim!!

This is what it is all about: FAMILY!! It reaches further than just 735. The support from outside unions brings us together as a community. They are on our side. Kudos to a certain company who REFUSED to cross our line yesterday. That company is union too with a contract coming up next year. As soon as he saw we were still on strike he radioed in and said there was no way he was going in.

Just a little food for thought: The economy sucks right now. Even without the strike we are all watching pennies. While it is hard for most of us to donate our entire strike checks, we can all give up something. If even 400 of us were able to give up just 10% of our strike checks each week that would put $6000 a WEEK into the hardship fund. Many of us have already found jobs to supplememt our households while we are out. Do you REALLY need that $15 if it could help keep people out "one day longer"?? $15 does not seem like much but if you look at it as $6000 a week, or $24,000 a month, it further enforces "United We Stand, Divided We Beg".

I am not a union member. But I AM married to one and could not be prouder of that fact or prouder of all of our Union family. Many of you kept us going when my husband was sick and out of work for an extended period of time. Now it is my turn to do what I can to help.

POSTING THIS AS ANON BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT PUBLIC CREDIT FOR MY ACTIONS!!!

To the anon who needed the baby food:

I have TONS more!!! I will bring it to the hall this week if you need it!!

I also have kids fall CLOTHES. I have a variety of sizes. I have kept these at my house due to storage space at the hall.

Perhaps if we posted lists of items we have available we can set up some form of swap program. I would much rather somebody who NEEDS these items have them for free than donate them to charity.
