Strike Benefit Checks

Strike Benefit Checks will be at the union hall Monday morning, the 20th, at 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Come in through the back door and have your photo ID ready. After you have been identified and have sign for it you will receive your check and then exit through the side door so we can keep an orderly flow.

Because of strict federal regulation, checks must be picked up in person at the union hall. If you don’t pick your check up during this time, it will be sent back to the Grand Lodge and returned the following week along with your next check. Your checks will begin to accumulate, week after week until you pick them up.

We know that this is not convenient for many who live out of town. One suggestion is to carpool with others in your area and another suggestion is to trade places with someone who walks the picket line on Mondays.

If you live close to Nashville, please consider changing places with someone who lives far away. Here are two lists where you can sign up.

I hope we are all praying for our union brothers and sisters, our country, our leaders, and the upcoming elections. Has anyone figured out who is winning and who is losing this strike ? Let's cut the jib-jab and get to the table and get us a contract.

Here is some food for thought...just say after being out for 30 days and vought comes back with the same contract with maybe a bigger ratification bonus...do you still think you will have that 78% vote it down after living on their savings and watching the economy drop like it has, durning an election year, even though this is worse than usual, holidays are coming up fast, or will you still be willing to stay out just one day more which would turn into 30 days or more. For the ones that were prepared for a strike...how long were prepared to live on 150... job market sucks...insurance is gone....money running out...the cost of living rising everyday...how long can you truely hold out? Just curious.

All I know is what we have today! Tomorrow may never come to any of us!

In reply to having the same contract offered again. This is going before a federal mediator now. So therefore, it's not just an Us vs. Them situation and let it be voted on, like the previous contract vote.

When you've gone this far, you can look at it as failure to go back to work with the EXACT same contract. That would make me feel like I was a Scab if I turned around and voted yes on the same exact contract.

If I had to start pawning items just to make it one more day than the company I would. It's not an issue of greed for me, it's an issue of feeling kicked in the seat of the pants too many times.

Ratifying bonus' are not going to buy my vote and we sent that message once already. I hope everyone is weighing these options and knows that it's the same principle that we voted to strike for and will continue to if need be.
